I'm a poet. My first book, Earnest, Earnest? (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2020), won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize. My poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, Tin House, Barrow Street, Willow Springs, Waxwing, FIELD, Copper Nickel, New American Writing, and other journals.
I’ve lived a lot of places—Boston, Providence, NYC, Memphis, and Houston (just to name a few). I spent a year working in a dry-cleaner on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia; and more than three years working as a reporter for the NPR member-station in Memphis, WKNO-FM.
Currently, I live in Tallahassee where I'm finishing my Ph.D. in creative writing at Florida State University.
