if you really want to know more . . .

I'm a poet and I've worked as a dry-cleaner and as a radio reporter. My first book, Earnest, Earnest? (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2020), won the 2019 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize. My work has appeared in American Poetry Review, Tin House, Barrow Street, Waxwing, Willow Springs, FIELD, Copper Nickel, and other journals.

I recently earned my Ph.D. from Florida State University, where I was a Kingsbury Graduate Fellow and Instructor of Record for creative writing, literature, and composition courses. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of English at the University of West Alabama.
